After many years of showing sheep, we decided to venture into a few purebred breeds for our nephew and neices to show in the future. This year we had the Overall Grand Champion Ewe at the Martin County Fair with BB14 0038 - Janet She is out of a Mcallrath Buck and an older aged suffolk, Blakely purchased while in college. She has done great things for us these past few years. She has raised 4 exceptional ewes for our new herd of Suffolk Ewes. We are more wether style breeders as our ewes are being used for two areas of the show industry. We want to have functional ewes that are sound on their hindlegs and able to produce thick/wide topped ewes/wethers. The same goes for our purebred Dorset Flock.
We will be breeding her, J & J Flock 0018, again the same way and hoping for the best. She is getting older, but still does an amazing job at lambing and raising kids each year. We are hoping for a buck in the future breedings to breed to a few other suffolk ewes we own.
Please call for your next Suffolk Champion. We have on the ground a few ewe lambs and yearlings being bred at this time. Mitch Green will be showing in the Jr Show at the NAILE in 2011.
